1. Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the StudyMap mobile application and this website. “StudyMap,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the StudyMap service. StudyMap helps users create exam study plans, schedule sessions, adapt a week when plans change, run focus sessions, and review progress.
We process information only for the purposes described below, including operating the app, syncing study data, providing subscriptions and reminders, maintaining security, and improving StudyMap when optional analytics permission has been provided.
In plain English: StudyMap needs your exam setup and study activity to build and maintain your plan. We do not sell that information or use it for third-party advertising.
2. Information we process
An internal user identifier is created so StudyMap can keep data separated by account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we may receive the Apple account identifier and, depending on your Apple choices, your name or relay email address. Guest use may rely on an anonymous account identifier.
Your selected exam, exam administration or target date, target score, current or recent score, score type and recency, preparation preferences, primary challenge, weekly availability, preferred study times, and similar answers you provide.
Generated plan revisions, scheduled tasks, subjects, topics, session durations, task results, unfinished work, day adjustments, focus-session status, progress records, and optional practice scores.
A randomly generated installation identifier, app version, build number, platform, environment, locale or time-zone context, and limited technical information needed to operate, synchronize, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
If you enable notifications, we may process notification permission state, reminder preferences, preferred times, push tokens, delivery state, and interactions needed to provide and troubleshoot reminders.
Subscription product, entitlement state, purchase status, billing period, expiration or renewal information, and provider identifiers used to grant and restore Premium. We do not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.
If you expressly enable analytics, StudyMap may process limited product events such as setup steps, plan creation, task completion, plan adjustments, paywall views, purchase outcomes, app version, and coarse time or workload buckets. Analytics payloads are designed not to include names, email addresses, notes, authentication tokens, or exact scores.
If you email us, we receive the email address, message, and any screenshots or technical details you choose to include.
3. How we use information
- To create, save, synchronize, and update personalized study plans.
- To show Today, My Plan, exam-day roadmap, focus sessions, practice scores, and progress.
- To move unfinished work, apply day-off changes, and keep deferred work queued.
- To authenticate accounts and keep each user’s records separated.
- To schedule local or remote reminders that you request.
- To offer, validate, restore, and maintain Premium subscription access.
- To protect the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and respond to support requests.
- To understand and improve product reliability when optional analytics is enabled.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.
4. Service providers
We use service providers only where they help deliver StudyMap. They process information under their own agreements and privacy terms.
Apple
Apple provides App Store distribution and billing, Sign in with Apple, device notification permission, and other iOS system services. Apple—not StudyMap—processes your payment credentials.
Supabase
Supabase provides authentication, database, synchronization, server functions, and operational infrastructure used to store and process account, planning, notification, subscription-state, and optional analytics data.
RevenueCat
RevenueCat helps retrieve App Store offerings, validate transactions, restore purchases, and synchronize Premium entitlement status.
Expo notification services
Where remote notifications are enabled, Expo notification infrastructure may help deliver push notifications to your device.
We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request; to protect users, rights, safety, or the service; or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
5. Your choices and controls
- Notifications: You can change StudyMap reminder preferences in the app and revoke notification permission in iOS Settings.
- Optional analytics: No stored choice means no permission. If an analytics control is available and you enable it, you can later turn it off; queued optional events are cleared when permission is not present.
- Sign in with Apple: You can manage apps using your Apple ID in Apple account settings.
- Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple account. Deleting StudyMap or deleting your StudyMap account does not itself cancel an App Store subscription.
- Account deletion: Open Profile → Account → Delete account. The app explains what will be removed and may ask you to reauthenticate with Apple.
6. Storage, retention, and security
StudyMap uses both on-device storage and server-side storage. On-device records may remain until you delete them, delete your account, or remove the app. Server-side study records are generally retained while your account is active so plans can synchronize and remain available.
Optional analytics events are configured to expire after 180 days. Limited subscription webhook and operational records may be kept for up to 365 days. Some records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, transaction integrity, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or enforcement.
When you complete in-app account deletion, StudyMap deletes the account and associated study records from systems we control and requests deletion of the linked RevenueCat customer record. Some information may remain temporarily in encrypted backups or where retention is legally required.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including authenticated access and account-level database controls. No system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or information about how personal data is processed. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
To make a request, use in-app account deletion where appropriate or email callousity@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
StudyMap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
International processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers are handled using legal mechanisms intended to protect personal data.
8. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when StudyMap’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the date at the top. Material changes may also be communicated in the app where appropriate.
